The most severe problem of endodontically treated tooth would be tooth fracure

The role of dental pulp

1. Nourishment supply to dentin

Nourishment supply to odontoblasts (which are making dentin) is being done with  blood vessels in dental pulp

2. perception of tooth

Any kind of the stimulation to tooth pulp become pain.
and when we lost tooth pulp, we can`t notice of dental caries.

3. defense reaction to stimulus

dental pulp cells would make reparative dentin which make defense against bacteria, and intercept pain

What is worried about endodontically treated tooth

1. tooth fracture
2. late awareness of tooth decay
3. tooth discolor
4. success of endodontic therapy is not guaranteed
5. defense reaction to bacteria will be lost
